An Expert Panel of IISS, PKU Visits Korea and Japan

Commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS) of Peking University (PKU) organized an expert panel to visit Korea and Japan from June 1st, 2016 to June 8th, 2016. Associate Prof. Gui Yongtao, Assistant President of IISS, PKU, Associate Prof. Chen Changwei from the School of International Studies (SIS) and Assistant Prof. Li Tingting from the School of Foreign Languages (SFL) joined the panel work. In Korea, the panel visited government and research institutions such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Diplomatic Academy, Seoul National University, Sungkyunkwan University, Dongseo University and so on and communicated with experts from units such as Sejong Institute, National Defense Research Institute, Pusan National University, etc. In Japan, the panel visited the National Security Bureau, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Institute for Defense Studies of the Ministry of Defense, the Japan Institute of International Affairs, Foundation of Japan Reconstruction Initiative, PHP Institute of Research and other government departments and think tanks, and exchanged views with their peers from media and universities such as the Japanese Economic News, Keio University, Gakushuin University, etc. The Panel also communicated with relevant staff of the Embassy of China in Korea, Consulate-General of China in Pusan and the Embassy of China in Japan.
