On September 19, 2023, Prof. Wang Jisi, Founding President of the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS) and professor at the School of International Studies (SIS), Peking University (PKU), was invited to have lunch with Christian Marchant, Minister Counselor for Political Affairs in the U.S. Embassy in China, at the Shangri-La Hotel in Beijing. They exchanged views on current Sino-U.S. relations and other issues. Ray Sudweeks, Counselor for Political Affairs in the U.S. Embassy in China, and Hu Ran, a doctoral student at SIS, PKU, attended the meeting.
