On May 8th, 2023, on behalf of the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU), Special Research Fellows Lei Shaohua and Qi Tianhao attended the 12th Annual Online Meeting of the “Council of Councils” (CoC) hosted by the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).
A total of 28 think tanks from 24 countries attended the meeting, including IISS, PKU and Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) from China. The meeting was around the topic of The Governance of Artificial Intelligence.
CoC is a global think tank network initiated by CFR, aiming to connect major policy institutes worldwide for open dialogues on issues of global governance and multilateral cooperation, pool the wisdom to address common threats, provide innovative ideas for advice and solutions to the public policy debates and decision-making processes of member countries. The Council is now made up of well-known think tanks from 24 countries, and its membership is roughly similar to that of the Group of 20 (G20).
