President Wang Jisi Attends Sino-American Think Tank Symposium in America and Research Sino-American Relations

From November 29th to December 3rd of 2016, Wang Jisi, President of the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS) and Professor of the School of International Studies (SIS), Peking University (PKU) paid a visit to Washington, the capital of the United States to conduct a research about the political situation and diplomatic policy trend after the U.S presidential election. During the visit, Wang Jisi respectively met with many U.S. figures, including: Daniel Kritenbrink, Senior Director of the Office of Asian Affairs, National Safety Council (NSC); Ryan Hass, Director of the Office of Asian Affairs, NSC; Ely Ratner, Deputy National Security Advisor to the Vice President; Leah Bray, Director of the Office of Chinese Affairs, NSC; Daniel Russel, Assistant Secretary of State; Susan Thornton, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State; David Shear, Principal Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, responsible for the Asia-Pacific affairs; Brent Scowcroft, Assistant to the Former President for National Security Affairs; Robert Zoellick, Former Deputy Secretary of State and Former President of the World Bank; J. Stapeleton Roy, Former Ambassador to China; Robert Daly, Director of Kissinger Institute on China and the United States of Wilson International Center for Scholars; Randall Schriver, Director of the Project 2049 Institute and its researchers Easton and Rachael Burton; Steven Bucci, Director of the International Security Center of the Heritage Foundation and its researchers Dean Cheng and Bryan Riley; David M. Lampton, Professor of the School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University; Douglas Paal, Vice President of Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (CEIP); Michael Swaine, Senior Researcher of CEIP; Richard Bush, Director of East Asian Policy Research Center, Brookings Institution (BI); Jonathan Pollack, Senior Researcher of BI; Christopher Johnson, Director of the Chinese Office, Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and its Senior Researcher Bonnie Glaser; Michael Auslin and Derek Scissors, Experts of American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research (AEI) and Michael Pillsbury, former Assistant Vice Secretary of Defense, etc.

 

On December 2nd, Prof. Wang Jisi, together with more than 20 scholars from both China and America, attended the Sino-American Think Tank Symposium held by CSIS.
