On November 4th, 2016, a delegation of four headed by President U Hla Maung Shwe of Myanmar Center of Peace and Reconciliation (MCPR) paid a visit to the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU). The delegation had in-depth discussions with Chinese scholars on topics such as the ethnic peace progress in Myanmar, Myanmar government’s latest ethnic reconciliation policies, the future development trends, etc. Prof. ZHAI Kun, senior research fellow of IISS, PKU, hosted the seminar.

U Hla Maung Shwe, MCPR President, Wuniu Wengmin, MCPR Director and Mr. Wu Ningwu, delivered keynote speeches respectively. Other participants of the seminar include: Associate Prof. QIAN Xuemei, senior research fellow of IISS, PKU, PENG Hongwei, Executive Director of the Academic Committee of the China Foundation for International and Strategic Studies, SONG Qingrun, Associate Researcher of China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, FAN Yiyi, Assistant Researcher of Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, as well as several scholars from the School of International Studies, PKU.
