From January 15 to 20, 2017, the expert panel from the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU) was invited to visit Washington, DC and to participate in the dialogue on the “Third China-US-Russia Tripartite Strategic Cooperation”. The dialogue was co-sponsored by IISS, PKU, Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. The meeting was the third one held by CSIS, following the first in Moscow in 2013 and the second in Beijing in 2015. The Chinese experts who attended the dialogue are Prof. Wang Jisi, President of IISS, PKU, Associate Professor Guan Guihai, Vice President of IISS, PKU, Prof. Zha Daojiong and Associate Professor Yu Tiejun from the School of International Studies, PKU and Prof. Yu Bin, from the Politics Department of Wittenberg University.
During his visit to the United States, Prof. Wang Jisi had an in-depth study on the US diplomacy and its policy towards China, and exchanged views with the following experts: Daniel Kritenbrink, former senior director of Asia-Pacific Affairs of United States(U.S.)National Security Council(NSC); Ryan Hass, former director of Asian affairs of NSC; Leah Bray, Director of China Affairs of NSC; JohnHamre, President of Center for Strategic and International Studies(CSIS); Michael Green, Vice President and Director of Japanese Affairs department of CSIS; Christopher Johnson, Director of the Chinese Affairs department of CSIS; Bonnie Glaser, Senior Researcher of the Chinese Affairs department of CSIS; Dan Blumenthal, Director of American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research(AEI); Derek Scissors, Researcher of AEI; Dennis Wilder, Professor of Asian Studies at School of Foreign Service of Georgetown University; John Frisbie, President of US-China Business Council.
