On April 4, 2018, Guan Guihai, Executive Vice President of the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU), met with Y. Sydykov, President of the Eurasian National University, Kazakhstan at the North Pavilion. The two sides carried out in-deep exchanges on topics of common concern, including cooperation in the field of education and scientific research between China and Kazakhstan, the possible exchanges in relevant disciplines of the two universities and so on. Guan Guihai and Y. Sydykov both agreed that the Sino-Kazakhstan cultural and collaboration is conducive to strengthening people-to-people connectivity and constitutes an important part of the smooth implementation of the Silk Road Economic Belt Initiative.
