At noon of April 16, 2018, at the invitation of the British Embassy in Beijing, China, Guan Guihai, Executive Vice President of the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU), had a lunch conversation with Mike Gifford, British Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Hugh Philpott, British Ambassador to Tajikistan, and Thorda Abbott-Watt, British Ambassador to Turkmenistan in the Lakeview Hotel of Peking University. The two sides exchanged views on interesting topics, such as the Central Asian policies of China, Russia and other countries, the construction of “Silk Road” economic belt, cultural and educational exchanges with Central Asian countries, and cooperation among major powers in Central Asia.
