President Wang Jisi Pays a Visit to the United States

From April 2 to April 6, 2018, Wang Jisi, Professor of School of International Studies (SIS), Peking University (PKU) and President of Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), PKU paid a visit to New York and Washington to communicate and exchange views with many U.S. figures on such issues as current Sino-U.S. relations, Sino-U.S. people-to-people exchange and so on. During the visit to New York, Prof. Wang met with the following people: Henry Kissinger, former U.S. Secretary of State, Michael Bloomberg, former Mayor of New York City, Robert Blackwill, former senior diplomat, Stephen Orlins, President of National Committee on United States-China Relations (NCUSCR), Jan Berris, Vice President of NCUSCR, Richard Haass, President of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), Elizabeth Economy, Senior Researcher of CFR, Francis Gavin, Director of the Henry A. Kissinger Center for Global Affairs at School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of the Johns Hopkins University; while in Washington, Prof. Wang met with Douglas Paal, Vice President of Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (CEIP), Michael Swaine, Senior Researcher of CEIP, Stapleton Roy, former Ambassador to China, Robert Daly, Director of Kissinger Institute on China and the United States of Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Ryan Hass, Senior Researcher of John L. Thornton China Center , Brookings Institution (BI), David M. Lampton, head of Sino-U.S. Joint Research Program on Asia-Pacific Community of SIAS and a senior China Studies expert, David Bulman, the American program director, Vali Nasr, Dean of SAIS. In addition, Prof. Wang also visited the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. National Security Council respectively and met with their senior officials for Asia-Pacific affairs. Hu Ran, Chinese program director of Sino-U.S. Joint Research Program on Asia-Pacific Community of IISS, PKU, participated in and coordinated the above mentioned activities.
