On the morning of 30th, October, Russian Vice Premier Tatiana Alekseevna Golikova, Russian chair of the Sino-Russia Culture Cooperation Committee paid a visit to Peking University and had a close talk with students and professors at Linhuxuan under the accompany of officials of Peking University. President of Peking University Hao Ping, Vice President Tian Gang held the reception ceremony for Russian Delegation headed by Tatiana Alekseevna Golikova, vice premier of Russia Federal Republic, Marina Aleksandrovna Borovskaya, vice minister of Russia Federal Ministry of Education and Science, and Andrey Ivanovich Denisov, Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to China etc.
Vice dean of Institute of International and Strategic Studies Guan Guihai hosted the meeting, which started with opening speech of Golikova. She expressed her gratitude for Peking University and said that she would like to know how Russian and Chinese students study at Peking University. To deepen the cultural exchanges among China and Russia, she encouraged more and more students to participate in bilateral communications of various fields, wishing all those present a beneficial studying experience and bright future.
Then heated interaction and discussion were initiated between the Vice Premier and the students from both sides. Most questions were focusing on exchange potential and policies closely related to education and national development, to which Vice Premier replied with enthusiasm respectively. She believed that Russia and China would enlarge and deepen cooperation of many specific fields in the near future, including education, medical care, sports, youth culture and techniques etc. Russia is also developing itself and learning from China. Furthermore, she said that procedures for education exchanges were likely to be simplified in order to facilitate overseas studies of Chinese and Russian.
