At the invitation of Islamic Azad University, a delegation of international relations scholars from Peking University (PKU) paid a visit to the Iranian capital Tehran from September 27th to October 2nd, 2018. Members of the delegation were: Wang Jisi, President of the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS) and Professor of the School of International Studies (SIS), Guan Guihai, Executive Vice President of IISS and Associate Professor of SIS, Wu Bingbing, Special Research Fellow of IISS and Associate Professor of the School of Foreign Languages, and Hu Yixiong, Director of the School Board and Associate Research Fellow of SIS. Iranian officials and scholars , including Ali Akbar Valayati, Diplomatic Adviser of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Former Foreign Minister of Iran and Chairman of the Board of Islamic Azad University, Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi, President and Professor of nuclear physics of Islamic Azad University, Sheikh Attar, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Islamic Azad University and Former Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran, Mohammad Marandi, Professor of political science of University of Tehran, met members of the delegation on several occasions, and exchanged opinions on issues of common concern, including the international strategic situation and promotion of exchanges between international relations scholars of the two countries. On September 30th, Islamic Azad University held a bilateral seminar with the delegation members on such issues, as the strategic situation in the Middle East and China's relations with Iran, etc.
