On the morning of May 24, 2019, a Russian academic delegation paid a visit to the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU) and had academic exchanges with scholars from the IISS. The delegation was composed of scholars from Russian universities and research institutes, such as the Institute of Far Eastern Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow State Institute of International Relations, St Petersburg State University, and Blagoveshchensk State Pedagogical University.

Guan Guihai, Executive Vice President of the IISS, hosted the exchange event. Chinese scholars who participated in the exchange event were from various Beijing institutions, including University of International Relations, China Foreign Affairs University, China Central Television, as well as the Office of International Relations, the Law School, the School of International Studies etc. of PKU.

Chinese and Russian scholars had frank and in-depth discussions on the issues such as the prospects of development of Sino-Russia relations, the direction of Russia-U.S. relations, the cooperation in Central Asia, as well as the judicial and foreign language talent cultivation for China-Russia pragmatic cooperation.
