President Wang Jisi Pays a Visit to Washington and New York

From September 25th to October 4th, 2019, on the invitation of Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Prof. Wang Jisi, President of the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU), and Hu Ran, Assistant Research Fellow, visited Washington and New York. They paid a visit to some government departments, such as the National Security Council (NSC), Department of State, Department of Defense and Vice President’s Office and made an official visit to Henry Kissinger, former U.S. Secretary of State, Robert Zoellick, former U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, and Thomas Friedman, New York Times columnist. They also met a number of experts and scholars from different institutions, such as CSIS, Brookings Institution, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, American Enterprise Institute (AEI), Hudson Institute, Center for a New American Security (CNAS), U.S.-China Business Council (USCBC), Georgetown University, Asia Group, National Committee on United States-China Relations (NCUSCR), the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), and Asia Society, and exchanged ideas with them on some topics, such as international situation, Sino-U.S. relations and American domestic politics. On the morning of September 29th, Prof. Wang Jisi, delivered a lecture entitled “The Ultimate Goals of World Politics” to the students and teachers of Georgetown University.
