On April 23, 2020, Gui Yongtao, Vice President of the Institute of International Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU), attended Broadyard Workshop, a webinar on “Observation and Analysis of Global Pandemic in the Eyes of Diplomats: COVID-19 in Japan” hosted by the Institute of Area Studies (IAS), PKU and the Office of International Relations (OFR), PKU, together with the School of Public Health (SPH), PKU and other units. Experts and scholars, such as Cheng Yonghua, Former Chinese Ambassador to Japan, Xie Zheng, Deputy Director of the Department of Global Health of SPH, PKU, Wang Xinsheng, Professor from the Department of History, PKU, discussed the COVID-19 prevention and control in Japan from the perspectives of politics, economy, society, history, culture and public health, etc.
