On the afternoon of October 16, 2020, China International Strategy Review held a virtual topic selection meeting for the first half of 2021. The meeting was hosted by Associate Prof. Yu Tiejun, Associate Editor of the journal, and attended by nearly twenty editorial board members from Peking University, Tsinghua University, the Central Party School of the Communist Party of China, China University of Political Science and Law, and Fudan University.

Yu Tiejun introduced to the editorial board members the operation situation of the two journals in 2020, mentioning some made progress, and some problems and difficulties which habe been faced. The participating editorial board members had a thorough discussion on the current situation and future development of the journal, and provided many constructive opinions and suggestions. They then proposed some specific directions and topics for the first half of 2021, taking into account their respective areas and topics of interest.
