From June 2 to 3, 2021, Associate Professor Guan Guihai, Executive Vice President, Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU), Director, Center for Modern Russian Studies, PKU, and Executive Director,  Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences Center of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Studies, was invited to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Forum on People-to-People Friendship in Wuhan and delivered a speech entitled “Cognitive Basis for Smooth Development of SCO” on the think tank sub-forum. The SCO Forum was co-organized by the Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (GNFCC SCO), the People’s Government of Hubei Province and the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).

The SCO Forum on People-to-People Friendship was the first high-level forum hosted by the SCO on such topic, and was also a significant event held by China this year for the 20th anniversary of the founding of the SCO.
