On Oct 31, 2022, President Yu Tiejun participated in the 13th regional conference of the Council of Councils hosted by the Council on Foreign Relations(CFR) on behalf of the Institute of International Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU), and joined the discussion of online session.
A total of 28 think tanks from 24 countries were present at the online conference, including Chinese think tanks, the IISS of PKU and the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS). The online session of the conference featured a discussion on Conflict Management: The Russia-Ukraine War.
The Council of Councils is a CFR initiative connecting leading foreign policy institutes from around the world in a common conversation on issues of global governance and multilateral cooperation, and drawing on the best thinking from around the world to find common ground on shared threats, build support for innovative ideas, and introduce remedies into the public debate and policymaking processes of member countries.
The membership of the Council of Councils includes leading institutions from twenty-four countries, roughly tracking the composition of the Group of Twenty (G20). A list of member organizations is available on the Council of Councils roster page.
