Vice President Yu Tiejun Attends the Sixth Online Conference of Council of Councils

On September 6, 2022, Yu Tiejun, Vice President of the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU), attended the Sixth on-line Conference of Council of Councils (CoC) hosted by the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). Qi Haotian, Assistant Professor at the School of International Studies (SIS), PKU, and Guo Xiaobing, Director of the Center for Arms Control Studies, China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, also attended the conference. 

A total of 28 think tanks from 24 countries participated in the conference. The Chinese think tanks that attended the conference were the IISS, PKU and the Shanghai Institute for International Studies. The conference featured a discussion on the topic "The Future of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation System".

The CoC is a network of global think tanks initiated and established by the CFR. It is designed to connect leading foreign policy institutes from around the world in a dialogue on issues of global governance and multilateral cooperation and to bring together intellectual power to address common threats and provide innovative ideas, thus providing recommendations and solutions to public policy debates and decision-making processes in member countries. The CoC is composed of leading think tanks from 24 countries, roughly tracking the composition of the Group of Twenty (G20).
