On the afternoon of November 14, 2025, an academic seminar on "Assessment of the Security and Development Situation in the Post-Soviet Space" was held at the North Pavilion, co-organized by the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU) and the Russian Research Center of PKU.

The seminar was attended by the following experts: Li Ziguo, Director of the Department for European-Central Asian Studies, China Institute of International Studies (CIIS); Liu Ying, Director of the Center for Russian Studies, China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU); Xu Bo, Director of the Institute for Russian Studies, Northeast Asian Research Center of Jilin University; Teng Ren, Director of the Center for Russian Language, Literature and Culture Studies, Heilongjiang University; Shen Ying, Director of the Department of International Politics, School of International Studies, Sichuan University; Liu Xu, Deputy Director of the Institute of Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia Studies, School of International Studies, Renmin University of China; Chen Yu, Deputy Director of the Institute of Eurasian Studies, China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR); Song Bo, Assistant Research Fellow, Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS), Tsinghua University; Lin Wenxin, Assistant Research Fellow, Shanghai Academy of Global Governance & Area Studies, Shanghai International Studies University (SISU); Dai Weijing, Research Fellow, the Russian Research Center of PKU; and Zhao Jianwei, Postdoctoral Researcher at the School of International Studies (SIS).

The experts and scholars in attendance engaged in in-depth analyses and discussions on the security situation and evolving interstate relations in the post-Soviet region since the outbreak of the Russia–Ukraine conflict, as well as economic, energy, technological, and social issues in the region.

The seminar was chaired by Guan Guihai, Executive Vice President of IISS, PKU and Director of the Russian Research Center of PKU.
