On the afternoon of July 2, 2025, the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU) held a seminar titled “Protection of China’s Overseas Interests: Challenges and Responses” at North Pavilion.

Experts and scholars attending the seminar came from the Development Research Center of the State Council, Renmin University of China, the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), the People’s Public Security University of China, China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO), China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), and the School of International Studies, PKU.

The participating experts and scholars engaged in in-depth discussions on the overall situation and challenges in protecting China’s overseas interests, and offered targeted recommendations to address the identified problems and risks.

The seminar was chaired by Yu Tiejun, President of IISS, PKU, and Professor at the School of International Studies, PKU.
