On May 15, 2016, the symposium entitled "China's Studies on Regional Country Politics: History, Theory and Method" was jointly held by the Institute of International & Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU) and the editorial office of The Journal of International Studies, PKU at the North Pavilion. More than 20 experts and scholars from PKU, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Zhejiang Normal University, Yunnan University, Shanghai International Studies University and other universities and research institutions attended the symposium. Prof. Yuan Ming, Vice President of IISS, PKU, and Prof. Wang Yizhou, Vice President of the School of International Studies (SIS) and Chief Editor of The Journal of International Studies, PKU, delivered speeches separately at the opening ceremony of the symposium. The present scholars had in-depth discussions on topics of China's regional country politics studies, including China's Russia-Eurasian studies, Central and East European studies, European Union studies, African Studies, Middle Eastern studies, Latin American studies, political studies of Southeast Asia, studies of the U.S., political studies of Japan, establishing of regional studies in the U.S., studies of Japan's special regions, regional studies of India as well as dealing with the four pairs of relations in regional country studies. Outcome of the symposium will be published in succession in The Journal of International Studies.
