
On December 15, 2015, IISS, PKU held 2015 Plenary Meeting of All Directors and International Situation Seminar. Yuan Ming, Vice President of IISS, presided over the Plenary Meeting. During the meeting, executive vice president GUAN Guihai summarized the work in 2015 and introduced the work plan for 2016. President Wang Jisi reviewed two key projects for this year: international order and Asia-Pacific security architecture, and shared his views on IISS’s positioning, long-term goal and specific next-stage tasks in his speech. They expressed sincere gratitude to PKU leadership, related departments, the directors and social sectors for their support of IISS, and earnestly invited them to give sustained guidance and help.
In the later International Situation Seminar hosted by President Wang Jisi, experts of IISS respectively offered their insights on counter-terrorism (Middle East, South Asia and the globe), Russian diplomacy, China’s surrounding situation (Korean Peninsula, Japan and ASEAN) and recent political situation in the US, and exchanged views with other participants.
Dai Bingguo, the honorary president of IISS, PKU and former state councilor, participated in the discussion and gave advice on IISS’s future research direction.
