On the afternoon of January 4, 2017, the symposium on “American Presidential Election: America’s Social Conditions & Public Opinions Perspective” was held at North Pavilion by American Studies Center (ASC), Peking University (PKU). Prof. Yuan Ming, Director of ASC, President of Yenching Academy and Vice President of the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), PKU, chaired the symposium. Participants of discussion included Prof. Wang Jisi, President of IISS, PKU, Prof. Liu Haoming from Vassar College in the United States, Prof. Zhang Xiaoming, Prof. Zhu Wenli and Associate Prof. Fan Shiming from the School of International Studies (SIS), PKU, Prof. Mao Liang from the School of Foreign Languages (SFL), PKU and Associate Prof. Niu Ke from the Department of History, PKU, etc.
