New Book Sharing Session of The Ultimate Goals of World Politics Held at a CITIC Bookstore

On the evening of December 21st, 2018, a new book sharing session of The Ultimate Goals of World Politics was held at the CITIC Bookstore at Parkview Green in Beijing. Wang Yizhou, Professor of the School of International Studies (SIS), Peking University (PKU), presided over this new book sharing session. Wang Jisi, the author of the book, Professor of the SIS and President of the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), PKU, shared his understanding of the ultimate goals of world politics and his thoughts during the writing process.

The Ultimate Goals of World Politics is the result of Prof. Wang Jisi's thoughts and studies on international politics for 40 years. He focuses on the macro-politics of the international community and within societies of countries, and discusses the political goals pursued by countries. In different stages of human development and in different societies, people have different trade-offs and focuses in terms of the five goals or themes of peace, development, freedom, justice, and belief.

Prof. Wang Yizhou pointed out that the book has not only broken the division between domestic politics and international politics but also bridged the gap between the two disciplines. It also widens our view when we try to understand the changing world.

Readers and media across China attended the sharing session and exchanged their opinions with the author.
