Academic Seminar on "Evaluation of Russia’s Internal Affairs and Diplomacy in 2022"

On Dec 11, 2022, an online academic seminar themed the Evaluation of Russia's Internal Affairs and Diplomacy in 2022 was jointly held by the Russian Studies Center of China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU), the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS) of Peking University (PKU), The Center for Modern Russian Studies of PKU, and the Center for Asia-Europe Studies of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU). 

31 experts and scholars in the field of Russian studies from the following institutions attended the seminar: Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation (CAITEC), China Institute of International Studies (CIIS), China Institute of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), Central Party School of the Communist Party of China, Fudan University, Beijing Normal University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Lanzhou University, Jilin University, Shanghai International Studies University , Dalian University of Foreign Languages ,Yanshan University, Zhejiang University of Finance & Economics, CAFU, PKU, XJTU, etc.

The seminar assessed the situational change of Eurasia and the adaptation of Russia's domestic and foreign policies in 2022 from the perspectives of Russia's politics, economy, diplomacy, and military affairs, and discussed the most recent developments in Sino-Russian relations.

Tan Jijun, director of Russian Studies Center and professor at the Institute of International Relations, CFAU and professor Wang Hua, Associate Director of Center for Asia-Europe Studies, XJTU co-hosted the conference. The seminar was concluded by Associate Professor Guan Guihai, Director of The Center for Modern Russian Studies of PKU and Executive Vice President of the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), PKU.
