IISS, PKU Holds the Symposium of “Ice-breaking Journey: China-U.S. Relations from an American Scholar’s Experience during Research Trips in East Asia”

On the afternoon of September 30, 2022, the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU) held the symposium entitled “Ice-breaking Journey: China-U.S. Relations from an American Scholar’s Experience during Research Trips in East Asia” at the North Pavilion. The symposium was attended by Scott Kennedy, Senior Adviser, and Trustee Chair and Project Director in Chinese Business and Economics at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), together with 18 scholars from PKU and University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Dr. Scott Kennedy talked about his experience during his research trip in East Asia. The participating scholars conducted in-depth discussions on issues such as China-U.S. economic and trade relations, as well as people-to-people and cultural exchanges. The symposium was hosted by Wang Jisi, Founding President of IISS, PKU and Professor of the School of International Studies, PKU.
