The Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU) held the “Symposium on China International Strategic Research under the New Situation” and the First Beige Salon at North Pavilion on April 23, 2021.
Experts engaged in the fields of international strategic research and regional country research from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Party School of the Central Committee of CPC, Xiamen University, University of Macao, China Foreign Affairs University, PKU and other institutions were invited to take part in the Symposium. The experts present at the symposium included Prof. Tang Shiqi, President of the School of International Studies (SIS), PKU, Prof. Wang Jisi, President of IISS PKU, Associate Prof. Guan Guiha, Executive Vice President of IISS PKU, Prof. Yu Tiejun, Vice President of IISS PKU, Associate Prof. Gui Yongtao, Special Research Fellow Prof. Zhu Wenli, Associate Prof. Lei Shaohua, Associate Prof. Qian Xuemei, Research Fellow Zhao Minghao, as well as Associate Prof. Guo Jie, Associate Prof. Jie Dalei, Assistant Prof. Chen Muyang, Assistant Prof. Lai Huaxia, Assistant Prof. Qi Haotian, and Assistant Prof. Xu Liang from SIS, PKU.
The symposium was hosted by Mr. Guan Guihai. The participating guests conducted profound discussions on topics such as changes in China’s international strategic environment, existing shortcomings of China’s international strategic research and approaches for improvement, and how to run “Beige Salon” successfully.
