On January 22nd, 2015, the 2014 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report was released simultaneously in 55 cities all over the world. Among the "150 most influential global think tanks", 7 of them are from China, namely Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) (ranks 27th), China Institute of International Studies (CIIS) (ranks 36th), China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR) (ranks 40th), Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC) (ranks 48th/99th), Institute of International and Strategic Studies, Peking University (IISS, PKU) (ranks 61st), Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) (ranks 71st), and Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Renmin University of China (CIFS, RUC) (ranks 106th).
IISS, PKU ranks 61st in the Global Think Tanks (page 66), 16th in Top Think Tanks in China, India, Japan, and the Republic of Korea (page 78), and 10th in Best University Affiliated Think Tanks (pages 132). FKA, i.e., Formerly Known As, indicates that it was called “Center of International and Strategic Studies (CISS)”in the past.

Background knowledge: the Global Go To Think Tank Index Report is prepared under the leadership of the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) of the University of Pennsylvania. The Global Go To Think Tanks Ranking began to be released from 2007.
