On the afternoon of December 24th, 2020, the symposium titled “Adjustment of Russia’s Internal and Diplomatic Policies and New Features of Sino-Russian Relations in 2020” co-organized by the Russian Research Center of Peking University (PKU), the Center for Russian Studies at China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU) and the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU) was held at the North Pavilion of PKU.

A total of seventeen experts on Russia from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), the Party School of the Central Committee of C.P.C., the PLA National Defence University, the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation (CAITEC), the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), the University of International Relations, the China Foreign Affairs University and PKU attended the symposium.

The present scholars discussed Russia’s adjustments of its domestic and foreign policies in 2020 as well as the development trends of China-Russia relations from the perspectives of Russia’s economy, party politics, geopolitics and diplomacy, and further analyzed and predicted the implications of Biden’s election victory as the next U.S. president on the future trajectory of Sino-Russian relations.
The symposium was co-hosted by Prof. Gao Fei, Vice President of the CFAU and Associate Prof. Guan Guihai, Director of the Russian Research Center of PKU and Executive Vice President of the IISS, PKU.
