On the afternoon of March 3, 2025, Mr. Nonomura Kaitarou, Minister for Political Affairs and Counselor Takehiko Ogihara from the Japanese Embassy in China visited the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU). They discussed with Prof. Yu Tiejun, President of IISS, on topics such as China-Japan relations and the international landscape.

Minister Nonomura and Counselor Ogihara stated that since Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba took office, Japan-China relations have generally developed towards a positive direction, and they expressed hope that this momentum for improvement would continue. Prof. Yu Tiejun emphasized that China values the development of China-Japan relations and expects to further strengthen high-level exchanges and people-to-people interactions between the two countries.
