An in-depth study course on "One Country, Two Systems" and contemporary China was co-organized by the Hong Kong Civil Service College and the Institute for Hong Kong and Macau Studies, Peking University. As a part of the course, Yu Tiejun, President of the Institute of International Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU) delivered a lecture titled "International Strategy and National Defense Policy" on February 26, 2024, in Hong Kong.
On that day, about 70 high-ranking civil servants participated in the program, and approximately 100 political appointees and high-ranking personnel enrolled as auditors, attended the program online.
The program for profound study of the "One Country, Two Systems" and contemporary China is designed to further strengthen the training of Hong Kong's senior officials and high-ranking civil servants. The program consists of 12 lectures, with one lecture per month. Topics covered in the program include the Communist Party of China and contemporary China, the thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics, the theory and practice of "One Country, Two Systems," as well as the development of contemporary Chinese society, economy, national defense, technology, and other aspects. The lectures are delivered by experts and scholars from the Chinese mainland and include in-depth exchanges with participants.
