The 19th "Beijing-Tokyo" Forum was held in Beijing from October 19 to 20, 2023 under the topic "Stability in Asia and Cooperation for World Peace: Responsibilities of China and Japan - Reflections on the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship Between China and Japan. Ministerial officials, renowned scholars, veteran media professionals, and entrepreneur representatives from both China and Japan engaged in in-depth discussions on the responsibilities of the two countries in the stability of the Asian region and cooperation for world peace, exploring how to improve Sino-Japanese relations under the new circumstances. Prof. Yu Tiejun, President of the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU), and Associate Prof. Gui Yongtao, Vice President of IISS, were invited to participate in the event. On the 19, Prof. Yu spoke at the security sub-forum on the topic "Properly Handling and Peacefully Resolving Regional Disputes." On the 20, Associate Prof. Gui Yongtao on behalf of the security sub-forum participants presented a summary of discussions at the plenary meeting of the forum.
