On the afternoon of April 11th, 2014, the sub-forum of "Bo'ao Forum for Asia-Maritime Silk Route and Chinese Businessmen's Economy" was held in Bo'ao, Hainan Province as co-hosted by China Overseas Exchange Association (COEA), the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU) and China News Agency.
Over 60 experts, scholars and Chinese businessmen representatives from home and abroad were engaged in dialogues and exchanges on the theme of "Asia-Maritime Silk Route and Chinese Businessmens Economy". Qiu Yuanping, Director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council (OCAOSC) and Executive Vice President of COEA, addressed the sub-forum. The following people made separate presentations on special topics: Wang Gungwu, President of the East Asian Institute, National University of Singapore, Huang Yuchuan from the American Carnegie Endowment for international Peace, Zhang Yuyan, Director of the Institute of World Economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences(CASS), Li Xiangyang, Director of the National Institute of International Strategy, CASS, Li Guanghui, Vice President of Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, and Zha Daojiong, Professor of School of International Studies (SIS), PKU. He Yafei, Deputy Director of OCAOSC and Vice President of COEA, made a concluding speech. Wang Jisi, President of IISS, PKU, chaired this sub-forum and attended the opening ceremony of this year's Bo'ao Forum for Asia held on April 10th.
