Wang Jisi, President of IISS and Professor of SIS, PKU Pays a Visit to Azerbaijan with His Escorts

From June 8 to 13, 2014, Wang Jisi, President of Institute of International & Strategic Studies (IISS) and Professor of School of International Studies (SIS), Peking University (PKU), and Wu Bingbing, Special Research Fellow of IISS and Associate Professor of School of Foreign Languages, PKU, paid a visit to Azerbaijan at the invitation of ADA University. During the visit, they made an official visit to Elmar Mammadyarov, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister and Novruz Mammadov, Deputy Head of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, and exchanged in-depth views on issues, such as China-Azerbaijan relations and political and economic situations in the South Caucasus region, etc. On June 11, Prof. Wang Jisi delivered a speech entitled “China’s Geostrategy in Eurasia” at ADA University. Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency and other media made detailed report on the visit and speeches of President Wang Jisi and Research Fellow Wu Bingbing. Notes: ADA University was evolved from the extension of the former Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) into a university of humanities and social sciences. The university is closely associated with the Azerbaijani government. All of its programs are taught in English, and it has many professors from prominent European and American universities. The university is now keen to build an exchange relationship with PKU and other Chinese universities.
