On Jan. 30, the 2017 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report, edited by university of Pennsylvania was released simultaneously in over 170 organizations of more than 100 cities all over the world. Among the 100 best global think tanks, 7 of them are from China, namely China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR) (ranked 29th), Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) (ranked 38th), China Institute of International Studies (CIIS) (ranked 49th), Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC) (ranked 57th), Institute of International and Strategic Studies, Peking University (IISS, PKU) (ranked 78th), Center for China and Globalization (CCG) (ranked 91st), Shanghai Institutes for International Studies(SIIS) (ranked 93rd).
IISS, Peking University ranks 12th in the Best University Affiliated Think Tanks, 78th in the Global Think Tanks, and 25th in the think tanks of China, India, Japan, and the Republic of Korea.
