The Academic Seminar Entitled "Evaluation of Russian Domestic and Foreign Affairs in 2023" Held

On January 6, 2024, the academic seminar entitled "Evaluation of Russian Domestic and Foreign Affairs in 2023" was jointly held by the Center for Russian Studies at China Foreign Affairs University, the Russian Research Center of Peking University (PKU), the School of International Relations (SIR) at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GUFS), and the Russian Studies Center of SIR, GUFS at GUFS.

The conference was attended by 34 experts and scholars in the field of Russian studies from various institutions, such as the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Party School of the Central Committee of CPC, the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, the Tianjin Academy of Social Sciences, Fudan University, Shandong University, Lanzhou University, Sichuan University, Liaoning University, Jilin University, Heilongjiang University, Shaanxi Normal University, Yanshan University, the China Foreign Affairs University, Peking University, and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies.

Participants assessed the change of Eurasian situations and adjustments of Russia's domestic and foreign policies in 2023 from political, economic, diplomatic, and military perspectives, among others. They also discussed hot issues in China-Russia relations.

Associate Professor Guan Guihai, Director of the Russian Research Center, PKU and Executive Vice President of the Institute of International Strategic Studies (IISS), PKU delivered concluding speeches at the seminar. The third part of the seminar was chaired by Associate Professor Xiang Zuotao from the School of International Studies (SIS), PKU, with Assistant Professor Dai Weijing from SIS, PKU and Sun Yilin, Deputy Secretary-General of IISS, PKU delivering keynote speeches.
