Wang Yizhou is currently the Dean of the Institute of Area Studies,  Nanjing University and the editor-in-chief of Nanjing University Area Studies Review. He was the deputy director of the Institute of World Economics and Politics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the editor-in-chief of World Economics and Politics, the director of the Department of World Economics and Political Studies of the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the doctoral supervisor. From 2009 to 2022, he served as a professor and associate dean of the School of International Studies of Peking University, and the editor-in-chief of The Journal of International Studies.
