Nabil Fahmy has been a career diplomat for over three decades, dedicated to advancing Egypt's foreign policy amidst global challenges. He served as Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs (2013-2014) and was appointed Ambassador to the U.S. (1999-2008) and Japan (1997-1999). Fahmy focuses on international security, disarmament, conflict resolutions and Arab-Israeli diplomacy. He was chairman of the UN Secretary General's Advisory Board on Disarmament Matters, vice chairman of the UNGA's First Committee on Disarmament and International Security, and represented Egypt at key conferences on nuclear non-proliferation and peace efforts. He is also Dean Emeritus at the American University in Cairo and Chairman of LYNX Strategic Advisors. His book, Egypt's Diplomacy in War, Peace, and Transition, was released in February 2020, with an updated Arabic version entitled "ثا بلق ف" released in 2022.
