Yan Xuetong is the Honorary President of the Institute for International Relations, Tsinghua University and a university distinguished professor. He was named as one of world's Top 100 public intellectuals by US journal Foreign Policy in 2008 and honored as a foreign member of Russia Academy of Science in 2019. He received Themistocles Award by University of Piraeus, Greece in 2022 for building the IR theory of moral realism. He has been annually listed in Most Cited Chinese Researchers by Elsevier since 2014. Some of his books were translated in to English, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Farsi and Albanian.
