Xing Guangcheng is a deputy to the 14th National People’s Congress, a  member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, a member of the Academic  Council of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and a first-class  researcher. He is the director of the Institute of Chinese Frontier Studies  of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Director of the Department  of Chinese Frontier History, School of History, University of Chinese  Academy of Social Sciences, Professor and Supervisor of Doctoral  Candidates. Member of the Eighth Academic Degrees Committee of the  State Council Disciplinary Review Group of World History. Member of  the Academic Committee of the Chinese Academy of History. Member of  the Editorial Board of the Journal of Chinese Social Sciences, Editor-in-Chief of the Editorial Board of Chinese Frontier History and Geography,  and Editor-in-Chief of the Collected Issues of Chinese Frontier Studies.
