Xu Bu, Senior Research Fellow, and member of the United Nations  Secretary-General’s High-Level Advisory Board on Effective  Multilateralism, former President of the China Institute of International  Studies, Secretary-General of the Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy  Studies Centre, graduated with a PhD in Law. He had previously served  as Deputy Director-General of the Policy Planning Department in the  Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy  to Canada, Deputy Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on  Korean Peninsula Affairs, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary  to ASEAN, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Chile.He is the author of Say No to Wars: Comments on American Identity and  International Politics and American National Identity and Its Impact.
