At the invitation of the Institute of International & Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU), Thomas Pickering, former U.S. undersecretary of state for political affairs and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Jusuf Wanandi, senior researcher and founder of Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) of Indonesia and Volker Perthes, Director of German Institute for International and Security Affairs attended the first “North Pavilion Dialogue”. They held a symposium in the cafe of the School of International Studies (SIS), PKU with faculties and students on the afternoon of Dec. 3rd, 2014.

The nearly 2-hour long symposium, hosted by Wang Dong, Associate Professor of SIS, PKU, covered topics such as the international mechanism for dealing with conflicts, global and regional cooperation, great power relations and so on. Prof. Chen Shaofeng, Dr. Chen Changwei, Dr. Jie Dalei and students from nearly ten countries participated in the symposium.
