Currently Executive President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA). From 1989 to 1993 he served as Second Secretary, Deputy Director, Director, and Counsellor in the Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs in Foreign Ministry. From 1993 to 1994 he was Deputy Director to general of Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs in Foreign Ministry. He served as Counsellor, then Minister Counsellor at Chinese Embassy in USA from 1994 to 1998. From 1998 to 2002 he was Director to general of Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs in Foreign Ministry. From 2002 to 2008, he was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Indonesia and to Canada. He served as Commissioner of Foreign Ministry in the Macao Special Administrative Region from 2008 to 2011.8. Since 2011 he has been in the current position.
