On May 29-31, 2009, Prof. Yuan Ming, Executive Deputy Director of CISS, Prof. Zha Daojiong, member of CISS academic committee, and Dr. Wang Dong, attended the eighth Asia Security Summit (the Shangri-La Dialogue) in Singapore. National leaders, defense ministers, senior security policy-makers and experts from 28 countries in the Asia-Pacific region joined the conference to discuss a wide range of topics including Asia-Pacific community, major powers and Asian security, Northeast Asia security dialogue, maritime cooperation and confidence-building, defense diplomacy, peace support operations, and energy and food security. During the meeting, CISS representatives shared views with security officials and specialists from other countries. Prof. Zha Daojiong joined the panel discussion on energy and food security.
