On the afternoon of March 26th, 2009, Comrade LIU Yandong, member of Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and state councilor, visited the School of International Studies, Peking University. She toured around to the offices for faculties and administrative staff, and listened to the introduction to the School’s progress in teaching and scientific research, policy consultation, international communication, student activity and so on. Moreover, she had a short conversation with professors and students on the scene. She approved the significance of international studies and talent training to China’s foreign relations and encouraged professors and students to make more contributions to Chinese diplomacy. Accompanied Comrade LIU Yandong were Comrade ZHOU Ji, Minister of Education, Comrade XIANG Zhaolun, Deputy Secretary of the State Council and several comrades from Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, and Research Office of the State Council.
