On the afternoon of March 19, 2014, the U.K. Defense Attaché in China, Brigadier S. R. Levey visited the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU), and attended a symposium about unconventional warfare with teachers and students from PKU, Renmin University of China, and China Foreign Affairs University. The symposium was hosted by Associate Prof. Yu Tiejun, Assistant President of IISS. 

After the symposium, Brigadier Levey came to the SIS and gave a profound but comprehensible lecture about the training of the Afghan National Army and basic qualities required for a soldier, in combination with his own professional experiences. The lecture was warmly welcomed and broadly complimented by the students.
