On the afternoon of the Dec. 4th, 2014, at the invitation of the Institute of International & Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU), Mr. Masahiro Akiyama, President of Tokyo Foundation and former Japanese Vice Defense Minister gave a speech entitled “New Development of Japanese Defense Policy”. He explained in details that the changes of Japanese national security system, threat evaluation and the budget of national defense since Abe Shinzō’s second cabinet came into power and then interacted with the audiences. 

As the third one of a series lectures under the first version of "North Pavilion Dialogue" launched by IISS, PKU, this lecture was hosted by Mr. Yu Tiejun, Associate Professor and Assistant President of IISS, PKU. Associate Professor Guan Guihai, Executive Vice President of IISS, PKU as well as some teachers and students of the School of International Studies (SIS), PKU also attended the lecture.
