GUAN Guihai was born in Heilongjiang province of China in 1965. He is an Associate Professor and an Associate Dean of the Institute of International and Strategic Study at Peking University.

Professor Guan has Ph.D degree from Moscow State Institute of International Relations (1997),  MA (1993) and BA (1988) from Peking University.

His academic interests lie in the fields of Russian diplomacy, Sino-Russian relations, China’s and Russia’s contemporary political and social transitions, SCO and the social-political development in the central asian countries.

Professor Guan teaches courses such as “Russian Politics and Diplomacy,” “Deng Xiaoping’s Theory” and “The Introduction of Conflict Studies”. His publications include Great Europe: Honor and Dream (co-author) (Dongfang Press, 1996), and Yeltsin’s Years in Power (co-author) (Henan Wenyi Press, 2000) and over thirty articals in Chinese,Russian,English and Japanese.

Professor Guan has visited Russia, USA, Austria, Japan, Germany and Korea for the lectures and international confenrences.

Professor Guan is a director of the Center for Modern Russian Studies of PKU, a consuldante of Sino-Russian subcommittee of cooperation in Education MOE PRC.
