Experts from Think Tank of UK Ministry of Defense Visit IISS, PKU

On February 23, 2017, accompanied by Matt Hayward, Assistant Defense Attaché at Defense Attaché Office at British Embassy to China, Colonel Joachim Isacsson, a strategic trends program expert at the Development, Concepts and Doctrine Centre (DCDC) at the United Kingdom Ministry of Defense, and Simon Cole, Assistant Program Director at DCDC, visited Institute of International & Strategic Studies (IISS), Peking University (PKU), and exchanged opinions with experts at IISS on issues of common interest, such as environment, energy, the current Asia-Pacific security situation and future trends of development. The seminar was presided over by Yu Tiejun, Vice President of IISS. Prof. Zha Daojiong and Associate Prof. Jie Dalei at School of International Studies (SIS), PKU and Dr. Li Chen at School of International Studies, Renmin University of China attended the seminar.
The DCDC is a think tank under the UK Ministry of Defense. It edits and publishes the Global Strategic Trends series of reports, which aim to describe and forecast the strategic environment for defense and security in the middle of this century. Global Strategic Trends out to 2050, currently being compiled by DCDC, is the sixth edition of the series of reports.
